The Inca Trail Weather

 The Inca Trail is a four day journey through the Peruvian Andes Mountains.  the Inca Trail Weather in the Andes is really unpredictable at times and can change very quickly from sunny, to rainy and back again.  Preparing accordingly for your Inca Trail to Machu Picchu can make the difference in having an enjoyable trek, or a miserable one if you come unprepared for the weather.  We suggest preparing for anything and everything.

January –

This month is often avoided due to the high chance of rain on the Inca Trail hike.

February –

All Inca Trail Tours for this month are canceled due to the Inca Trail being closed for maintenance for the entire month

March –

This month is often avoided as well due to the high chance of rain on the Inca Trail tour, but still possible to organize you hike experience.

April –

If you choose to take your Inca Trail tour for the month of April, you will have a nice mix of warm weather, possibly rain, but mostly good conditions for your trek.

May –

This is a good time to take the Inca Trail tour if you enjoy sunshine.  The chances are very high for you to have good weather and conditions for the duration of your Inca Trail tour.

June –

This is a really good time for you to take your Inca Trail tour.  The days will be warm with lots of sunshine, and the nights will be cool with clear stary skies.  This is one of the most recommended times to take your Inca Trail tour.

July –

The good conditions continue into the month of July for your Inca Trail tour.  Warm days with cool nights and hardly any chance of rain.

August –

This month is considered the busiest time of the year for Machu Picchu.  If you choose to take the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu make sure you book many months in advance.  Weather conditions are almost perfect for August, with lots of sunshine and warmth in the day, and beautiful clear cool nights before you go to sleep.

September –

This month is more of the same great weather conditions for your Inca Trail tour.  Towards the end of the month the days will start to become noticably cooler, however there is still plenty of sunshine and hardly any rain at this time.

October –

If you choose to take your Inca Trail tour in October you will be greeted with very fresh temperatures and good weather conditions with a small chance of rain while you are on your trek.

November –

The days are starting to become a lot cooler now.  There is still plenty of sunshine and the weather conditions are good.  There will be a small chance of rain during your Inca Trail tour.

December –

Your Inca Trail tour during this month will be a mix of cool weather and warm weather.  There is a small chance of rain in the beginning of the month, but as the new year approaches , the chances of rain are higher.

Whatever month you decide to book your Inca Trail tour, keep in mind that the weather is always unpredictable.  We can plan, and think the weather will be a certain way, but only mother nature truly knows what it has in store for us on a day to day basis.  Come with an open mind, and the willingness to go with the flow as it will make your experience on your Inca Trail tour that much more enjoyable.  We recommend being prepared for anything, cold weather, warm weather, wet and dry weather, no matter what nature has planned for your trek, we know it will be a great journey and a memorable adventure.
