Day 1:   CUSCO – MORAY – SALT MINES – OLLANTAYTAMBO.

We are going to pick you up from the hotel in the morning, after 45 minutes we will get to the Traditional Inca Textile center Area of Chincheros where you will see the locals working with original staff as probably this Inca people did, later we will drive to the Inca site of moray an exclusive Inca site to create micro climes.

Later we will drive for 45 more minutes to the last beautiful place known as the Salt flats or Salt mines, at this place we will have the chance to walk around and to see those locals working and collecting the Salt, enjoy the small walking tour and get unique memories.

Finally we go to Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon we will get to Ollantaytambo there we will visit the Inca site of Ollantaytambo, explore the area and overnight in the sacred valley. Optional to go back to Cusco to spend the first night.

Day 2: OLLANTAYTAMBO – ABRA MALAGA – HUACAYUPANA – COCALMAYO

Pick up from your hotel in the morning, we will drive for 1 ½ hours to Ollantaytambo where we will have a break for 15 to 25 minutes. In this journey we have the chance to appreciate some attractive and picturesque towns such as Urubamaba in the Sacred Valley. We will then continue for 1 ½ hours more until we reach Malaga pass (4350 m.a.s.l.) where we first stop to take in some fresh air and take photos.

Our expert guide will then give a safety talk before starting our descent 2.5 hours tour descending to the edge of the jungle passing small rustic towns, rivers amongst others. We will then arrive at the archeological ruins of Huamanmarca and have a guiding tour.

We will then continue on to Santa Maria where we will arrive approx 12 or 2pm and have a rest for 30 minutes before getting ready for our rafting expedition. This will last approx. 2 hours and pass by Santa Maria and Challhuay. (Class of rapids II – III+).

We will finally return to the small village, we will take local transportation to take us to the village of Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night.

we can optionally visit the hot springs of cocalmayo one of the beautiful places on the route.

Day 3: Colcalmayo hot springs – Machupicchu town

After breakfast, we start a walk for 2-3 hours approx to Aguas calientes town, so first we go to INTIWATANA by car, where we do have an exceptional view of the Lost City of the Incas, the legendary Machupicchu, from a different angle. We are going to enjoy a last lunch in nature at the lookout point of Machupicchu (2650m/8692ft).

Our lunch spot offer a view of both Machupicchu and the Huaynapicchu Mountain and take a good rest, enjoy the Ruins, which have recently been restored. after lunch we do have a nice walk to Machupicchu town, following the Train tracks for 2 hours or more.

It is optional to have a zip line adventure in the morning if you wish let us know so we will organize in advance.

Finally we get to Machupicchu town and we go to the hotel , the hotel will be provide according to the Service that you are taking.

Day 4 Machu Picchu tour – Cusco

Around 4 am we will get ready to hike up to the ruins of Machu Picchu via a route through the jungle having the opportunity to catch sunrise by arriving at the gates of the park at approx. 6:20 am.

We can appreciate the arrival of the sun if we are lucky. We will then continue our visit of the park with a guided tour of the ruins by our tour guide (approx. 2 hours).

The Machupicchu tour will be provide by our professional guide visiting the most important places of Machupicchu.

After the tour we will have free time to ourselves to enjoy the ruins before descending back down to Aguas Calientes to take our return train back to Ollantaytambo. We will be met by our transfer where we will then catch the tourist train back to Cusco.

Trek conditions vary according to the season. ie in the dry season the trail can be dusty, in the wet season it can be slippery and muddy. During the shoulder seasons the conditions depend on prior weather. Peru path takes no responsibility for trail conditions, as it is directly related to the weather.

This is an adventurous trip. You should be sure to bring an open mind, flexibility and a sense of humor. Most of all you should be prepared to go with the flow. Also, we do not recommend this trek for “first time” trekkers or campers.
